Join the University Art Museum (UAM) and the UAM Advisory Council on Día de los Muertos for a special fundraising event honoring creativity, community, and those who came before us.
Hosted by UAM Advisory Council Member José Guerrero, this festive afternoon will feature a coffee pop-up, a curated charcuterie spread, and refreshing drinks, all set within José’s beautifully transformed, fall-inspired courtyard. Guests will also experience the installation of a stunning handmade Papel Picado sculpture created by the artist himself.
As José reflects, “Día de los Muertos is a day of altars honoring those who have come before us, and the museum is kind of like an altar for presenting creativity and artistic practices of those who inspire us.” This gathering celebrates the lineage of artmaking and the ancestors—familial, cultural, and artistic—who continue to inspire the work we do today.
Come raise a glass, honor the creative spirit, and support the UAM’s mission to sustain art for generations to come.
