The Zane Bennett Collection Study Room
The Zane Bennett Collection Study Room allows visitors to request, view and research directly from NMSU Permanent Art collection. To book time in the study room please email jasminew@nmsu.edu or misage@nmsu.edu or call 575-646-2545. The study room also holds Department of Art, Art History Seminar courses–please see the schedule below before requesting study time.

- The Zane Bennett Collection Study Room provides community and public access to works in the NMSU Permanent Art Collection that are not currently on view giving first hand experience with our collection to scholars, educators, students, community members and artists who want to learn from or teach with objects in the museum’s collection.
- The Zane Bennett Collection Study Room gives the general public and NMSU students access to 2,000 nineteenth-century Mexican retablos, the largest collection in the United States, and 1,800 contemporary and modern works in the Permanent Collection including European and American prints, drawings, and photographs ranging from the late 19th century to the present.
- The Zane Bennett Collection Study Room has been designed to accommodate classes, individual scholars, collectors, connoisseurs, and museum visitors who can tailor their pedagogical pursuits and individual class syllabi around NMSU’s world renowned art collection – a currently hidden gem of Southern New Mexico.
