Neo Noir at the Rio Grande
April 10, May 23, July 11, July 19
Zane Bennett Collection Study Room (RM 106) in Devasthali Hall

In conjunction with the University Art Museum’s (UAM) exhibition Warhol & Friends, the museum is excited to present a free series of classic films at the Rio Grande Theater and the UAM. Films include Rear Window, Sunset Boulevard, and Mildred Pierce, which will be screened at the Rio Grande Theater on April 10, May 23, and July 11, respectively. The series will conclude with a special screening of Gilda at the University Art Museum on July 19, coinciding with the exhibition's closing reception. All screenings will take place at 6:00 PM and are free and open to the public. This program is made possible with generous support provided by Art Bridges.
Warhol & Friends engages with the diverse legacies of the Pop Art movement throughout its historical period and contemporary visual culture. The exhibition highlights significant artworks such as Cindy Sherman’s Untitled Film Stills, where the artist photographs herself not as the subject of portraiture but as a stock character in a hypothetical black-and-white Hollywood movie.
