OutsmART: Chain Reactions

Come learn more about chain reactions with the UAM team as we explore Cara Despain's new exhibit, Specter, and see how an artist can start a chain reaction, creating social change with their art. Chain reactions can start small and lead to big impacts. Through audio, visual, and sculpture installation Despain's art addresses big consequences that came from the simple start of a nuclear chain reaction. Through experimentation and creating multiple types of chain reactions during this workshop we’ll gain a better understanding of how chain reactions of all kinds work. By the end of the workshop participants will get a chance to make a paper collage that explores the mechanical, chemical, and artmaking side of chain reactions. All supplies for this workshop will be provided for.
